Biographical note
Vincent Thibault is a Canadian writer who has published 15 books in French, including both fiction and nonfiction, with various publishing houses in Quebec. From novels to travel memoirs and philosophical essays, his work is surprisingly varied, but keeps exploring key themes—the meaning of kindness; the quest for clarity and wisdom in a hectic and noisy world; courage in the face of uncertainty; and the reconciliation of tradition and modernity.
A proponent of what he calls “lucid optimism,” Vincent has been studying Buddhism for twenty years. His practice is mostly focused on the Nyingma tradition, but he has also received teachings from different lineages. He is also a prolific translator. Vincent has also published articles in magazines (Nuit blanche, Le libraire, Shambhala Sun), translated William Gilkerson’s award-winning novel, Pirate’s Passage, penned prefaces for half a dozen books (new editions of literary classics), and gathered extensive experience in the book publishing industry (including as creative director and acquisitions editor). He is also a seasoned screenwriter.
His new book, Overflow: A Buddhist Guide to Recovering Sanity in the Age of Information Overload will be released in September 2024 by the Australian publishing house, Platform Publications. Check out the Books section!
